Pat's Garden... worn brickwork brings a comfortable vibe through it's soft palette and texture; planting brings a splash of colour and form... The elegant lines of the metal chair are softened by the teracotta colour and bring a slightly regal air to the courtyard, meanwhile they reference the linear structure of the bonsai tree.  The oxidised metal, hand fashioned bell hums occasionally... blown by the wind, reminding us of the wider world...

While above may be an image of the exterior, the principles are applicable for interiors - natural materials, items repurposed, nature's palette and the balance between strong and muted colours..

Within interiors we look for opportunities to create connections with the outdoors, perhaps the sound of water through an open window, a mirror reflecting the view of the garden, a scented plant on the worktop...

A place where people will feel comfortable quickly...  welcoming, like nothing is too much effort and there's plenty of time for a

cuppa...

Pershore Wellbeing Hub

I was asked to design a place where people would feel comfortable quickly and easily, it was to be welcoming yet professional, practical yet relaxed, like nothing was too much effort and plenty of time for a cuppa... The rooms  are adjoining and the main reception room has a beautiful, large window onto the High Street so privacy was important too.

...these plants provided a living screen between two rooms, sheilding the computers and helped to soften the acoustics

The window film provides privacy from passers-by on the High Street, while providing an attractive window from the outside and light into the interior, the film is of a height to obscure the passing traffic however low enough to see the Georgian buildings opposite, retaining the visual connection within the town for the vistors and volunteers inside... it is the 'Meadow' design from Hannah Nunn.

Primary research sketch above, becoming a functional piece of furniture (sketch on the right) that contributes to the  identity to the space we are creating...

..bespoke console table with the motif of pebbles sets the scene on entering the room..

Using a readily available birch plywood to create something unique, imbuing the space with a sense of worth without opulence...

....we looked to nature to create a sense of ease and welcome, repeating elements for a sense of connectivity....
